Our honey, known as Rock Bee Honey (Apis dorsata), is a treasure trove of medicinal and nutritional value, thanks to its multi-floral base and unique sourcing process. Unlike uni-floral honey sourced from cultivated fields, our forest honey stands out for its exceptional qualities.
In Andhra Pradesh alone, there are approximately 3,000 tribal families whose livelihood depends on the collection of Rock Bee Raw Honey from the forests. Each year, Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC) procures a substantial quantity of 180 to 200 metric tons of Rock Bee Raw Honey from these tribal honey gatherers. Recognizing the increasing market demand for "Girijan Honey," we estimate a demand of 400 metric tons of Raw Honey annually.
At GCC, we prioritize quality and purity. Every batch of honey brought to our purchase centers undergoes critical quality tests to determine its purity and moisture levels. Only after passing these rigorous tests does our team accept the Raw Honey. Furthermore, we conduct random sampling from the stock received at the purchase centers and subject it to FSSAI quality tests before processing. Rest assured, our "Girijan Honey" is certified under Agmark A grade during the bottling process.
To ensure the highest standards, GCC operates two modern and sophisticated processing units in Rajahmundry and Chittoor. With a processing capacity of 500 kilograms per 8-hour shift, each unit processes and bottles an impressive 15 metric tons of honey every month. You can find our honey packaged in 5kg, 1kg, 500gr, and 250gr pet jars, all proudly bearing the brand name "Girijan Honey."
